Lyceum, Letran out to bolster Final 4 bids

LYCEUM and Letran collide today, with both teams out to boost their Final Four drives in the 98th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex.

The Lady Pirates and the Lady Knights meet at 2 p.m., with the former looking to claim solo third with a win that will push it to 6-2, while the latter is out to improve its 4-3 card.

Lyceum booted out San Beda University from semis contention with a 25-20, 25-16, 28-26 victory last Sunday.

Janeth Tulang, Johna Dolorito, Jewel Maligmat, skipper Venice Puzon, Zonxi Dahab and Joan Doguna are expected to anchor the Lady Pirates’ bid.

Letran dropped its second loss in a row at the hands of Perpetual Help 23-25, 21-25, 32-20, 19-25 two days ago.

The Lady Knights will lean on Judiel Nitura, Chamberlaine Cunada, Lea Tapang, Daisy Melendres, Angelique Ledesma, and Natalie Estreller.

In the first match at noon, also-ran teams San Sebastian College and Emilio Aguinaldo College square off.
