SPAIN-BASED John Cabang Tolentino remained at No. 28 in the men’s 110-meter hurdles rankings but the rest of his national teammates and fellow Olympic hopefuls need to raise their performances a notch based on the latest World Athletics Olympics qualifying released yesterday.
Tolentino, whose national record of 13.37 seconds is just .10 away from the Olympic cut of 13.27, is tipped to compete in the Meet Madrid 2024 on June 21 at the Stadio Villahermoso in Madrid, Spain.
Foremost among those who need to redouble their efforts is Eric Cray, who is 49th in the men’s 400-meter hurdles and hopes to scale the ratings ladder when he sees action today (Thursday in Canada) in the Edmonton Athletics Invitational at the Foote Field in Alberta Canada.
A total of 40 spots are available in the event for the Paris Olympic Games.
