FAR Eastern University bounced back from a humbling first set loss and handed University of the East a 16-25, 28-26, 25-13, 25-21 beating yesterday to complete a seven-game elimination sweep of the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Chenie Tagaod propelled the Lady Tamaraws with 16 points and eight excellent receptions, Mitzi Panangin added 13 markers while Jazlyn Ellarina, who emerged as a game-changer for FEU, finished with 12 points.
“Gumana iyong team chemistry namin tapos nagkaintindihan kaming lahat sa gusto naming mangyari. Iyon nga lang, sa mga bagay na kailangan dapat namin ma-kontrol, which is iyong mga errors, talagang trabahuhin talaga,” said FEU interim coach Manolo Refugia.
“Dito sa V-League, ang gusto namin kasi, ang unang objective naman namin is ma-buo iyong team chemistry, iyong sistema namin na mabuo namin every game, makapag-adjust kami, dalhin namin sa training. So far siguro, nakukuha naman namin iyon,” he said.
The Lady Tams had 52 points, 11 kill blocks and eight service aces in an hour and 56 minutes.
After dominating the third set, the Lady Tamaraws continued their hot-spiking in the fourth frame to take an 18-13 lead and reached match point at 24-20 after an ace from Gilliane Gallo.
