LA Salle skipper Mars Alba and fellow veteran Jolina Dela Cruz savored the Lady Spikers’ title win over National University in the recently concluded 85th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.
For good reason.
After years of failing to reach the Promise Land, Alba and Dela Cruz finally won it all for the Green-and-White of Taft.
“For me siyempre, thankful ako kay Lord kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanya wala kami dito ngayon. Pinagtulungan-tulungan lang namin maabot itong goal na ito kasi sa five years ko dito sa La Salle, ngayon lang ako nakaranas ng champion and kami pa iyong seniors ni Jolina,” Alba, this season’s Best Setter and was also named finals MVP in La Salle’s dramatic come-from-behind 19-25, 23-25, 25-15, 25-17 decision over the Lady Bulldogs last Sunday, said.
“Very nakaka-overwhelm siya kasi kami kami na lang iyong nandito and walang inaasahan kundi mga sarili namin,” she added.
First Best Outside Hitter Dela Cruz also shared the same sentiment– they achieved their long-awaited moment.
