REIGNING three-time champion Arellano University eyes to bounce back from a stunning loss the last time out when it clashes with Lyceum today in the 97th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena.

The match is set at 2:30 p.m. after Perpetual Help seeks its second straight win when it takes on Emilio Aguinaldo College in the curtain-raiser at 12 o’clock.

The Lady Chiefs absorbed a 26-24, 26-24, 25-20 defeat to San Sebastian College last Saturday.

The Obet Javier-mentored Arellano side will pin its hopes on Nicole Sasuman, Carlo Donato, and Princess Bello to improve its 2-1 record and break a five-team logjam for second with the Lady Pirates, Lady Stags, Mapua University, and Jose Rizal University.

Janeth Tulang, Jewel Maligmat, Zonxi Dahab and Johna Dolorito will be relied upon by Lyceum, which is out to score a fitting follow-up to its 25-19, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23 triumph over San Beda University three days ago.

Fresh from a 26-24, 25-18, 25-19 win over Letran last Friday, the Lady Altas should lessen their errors, according to coach Sandy Rieta.

“Usually iyong mga errors nila, iyong sariling errors ng team iyon ang kino-correct ko,” Rieta said.

“Tapos ang game plan sa kalaban, so nakita naman na namin sila (EAC),” he added.
