MAPUA’S Lady Cardinals bounced back from their opening-day loss by fending off the gritty Lyceum Lady Pirates in five sets 23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 22-25, 15-11 yesterday in the V-League Collegiate Challenge at the Paco Arena in Manila.
Raisa Ricablanca had 17 points and seven excellent receptions, Roxie Dela Cruz had 15 points, while Alyanna Ong and Hannah De Guzman chipped in 12 points each as Mapua improved to 1-1.

Lyceum absorbed its second straight loss despite a combined 41 points from Johna Dolorito and Janeth Tulang.
In the men’s side, Ateneo’s Blue Eagles started their campaign on a high by beating Emilio Aguinaldo College 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 25-16 while Far Eastern U outlasted La Salle 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 16-25, 17-15.
