FANS can expect a National University side with guns blazing against University of Santo Tomas in Game 1 of their best-of- finals duel tomorrow, Saturday, for the 86th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament crown at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

NU, last year’s runner-up, returned to the Big Dance for the third consecutive season after a 25-13, 27-25, 25-15 ripping of Far Eastern University in their do-or-die semis clash last Wednesday night.

NU last won the title back in the 84th season in 2022 when it ended a 65-year drought.

The Lady Bulldogs of coach Norman Miguel are anticipating an all-out clash with the Golden Tigresses.

“Alam namin na kailangan namin ng matinding preparation. Hindi basta-basta iyong character ng UST. Sisimulan namin siya mag-scouting through video, then from there, iyong mga technical skills namin na iwo-work on para ma-counter namin sila. Iyon iyong mga sisimulan namin,” Miguel said.

Lady Bulldogs Bella Belan and Sheena Toring should be ready for the Golden Tigresses, with the former also gearing up to face her good buddy and UST skipper Detdet Pepito.
