BUOYED by a big win the last time out, Jose Rizal University tries to gain a share of the lead when it collides with Emilio Aguinaldo College today in the 97th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the Paco Arena.
The curtain-raiser is set at 12 o’clock before Letran and Perpetual Help clash for a maiden win at 2:30 p.m.
The Lady Bombers shook off a first set loss and downed the Lady Knights 13-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-27 last Tuesday.
JRU graduating skipper Dolly said she is keen on leading the team to new heights in her swan song.
“Simula noong nag-start pa lang iyong bubble namin, tumatak na talaga sa utak ko iyong goal ko na dalhin ang team sa Final Four and hopefully makaabot kami sa finals,” Verzosa said.
“Kaya lagi sa training, iyon ang iniisip naming, minsan nawawala then kailangan ko lang i-remind ang sarili ko,” she added. — Abby Toralba
