DEFENDING champion La Salle University tests the mettle of National University tomorrow, Saturday, with the winner moving to solo second in the 86th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Led by Angel Canino, the Lady Spikers collide with the Bella Belen-paced Lady Bulldogs at 2 p.m., with both teams out to sustain their winning streaks.
Both teams have 5-1 cards behind pacesetting University of Santo Tomas (6-0), with La Salle eyeing its fourth straight win and NU out to sustain its five-game winning run.
Canino and the Lady Spikers humbled the UP Fighting Maroons last Saturday 25-15, 25-17, 25-18 while Belen and the Lady Bulldogs whipped the UE Lady Warriors 25-13, 25-19, 25-16.
La Salle deputy coach Noel Orcullo noted that NU is peaking, adding the Spikers should be ready for the duel.
