WHILE keen on making an Olympic comeback, Bianca Pagdanganan doesn’t like to dwell on the prospects too much to ease her stress while competing in the US LPGA Tour.
“I try not think about it (the Olympics). It will just stress me so much when everyone keeps saying ‘Oh, you’re playing in Paris,” Pagdanganan said after shooting a 66 yesterday in the Mizuho Americas Open at the Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey City.
She is currently ranked No. 37 in the International Golf Federation Women’s Olympic qualifying ratings and will be eligible to play in the Paris Olympics if she remains among the top 60 during the cut-off date on June 14.
But make no mistake, Pagdanganan would love to represent the country in her second straight Olympics, saying: “Yes, I love playing in the Olympics. I love representing my country and playing for the Philippines.
“I guess if I keep on playing how I’m playing, it (the ranking) will stay there. Just going with the flow kinda deal so (that’s where I am right now).”
In her Olympic debut three years ago, Pagdangan had a four-round tally of 285 on scores of 69-71-71-74 to finish in a three-way tie for 43rd at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in the Japanese city of Saitama.
