VOLLEYBALL ace Jaja Santiago continues her journey in the Japan V. League and signed up with JT Marvelous, the team announced yesterday.

The 6-foot-5 middle blocker has found a new home with the three-time Japanese champions after parting ways with Saitama Ageo Medics last month.

“As a new member of JT Marvelous, I am sure this season will be an exciting and challenging year,” Santiago said on the team website.

“I would be happy if you could continue to cheer and support me everywhere I go. This season, I will do my best to work hard together with my new teammates and show the best performance I can,” she added.

Santiago, 27, first player in the Japan V. League as an Asian import for the Ageo Medics and played for the squad for five years.

She helped the Ageo Medics in their bronze medal finish in the 2019-20 V. League season and the team’s title run in the 2021 V. Cup.

Santiago, a member of the league’s Best Six, also played a key role in the campaign of the Ageo Medics last season when they reached the semifinals.

However, Saitama eventually finished fourth, losing to Hisamitsu Springs in their battle for the bronze.

The former National University star is expected to bolster the JT Marvelous who missed the semifinals in the previous season.

The JT Marvelous last won the V. League title back in the 2020-21 season.
