PRIMING for her all-important competition in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, Lauren Hoffman clocked 13.41 seconds to bag the silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles of the Duke Invitational meet over the weekend at the Morris Williams Stadium in Durham, North Carolina.

Racing on the track where she made a name as a Duke University track standout, Hoffmann finished second behind Blue Devil Skyla Wilson (13.30) and ahead of East Carolina’s Sydni MacMillan (13.61).

The result was huge morale boost for the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games veteran, who is chasing an Olympic slot in the women’s 400-meter hurdles and was set to see action in the event last night.

The top 40 athletes in the event either duplicating or surpassing the qualifying time at the cut-off date on July 7 will be eligible to compete in Paris.

Hoffman is currently ranked No. 32 in the World Athletics ratings, four rungs higher than Asian women’s 400-meter hurdles queen and compatriot Robyn Brown.
