PLDT bolstered its line-up ahead of the season-ending conference of the PVL by linking up with Filipino-Canadian spiker Savannah Davison.
PLDT announced its newest addition last Wednesday night, a move that is expected to boost the High Speed Hitters’ campaign in the All-Filipino Conference set to kick off on Oct. 15.
“We found Filipino-Canadian Savannah Davison as the perfect addition to the PLDT team. Athletic, smart, and fun, she is someone we can’t wait for you to witness,” part of PLDT’s statement in the team’s social media post said.
The 5-foot-9 outside hitter played in the United States NCAA Division 1 and had donned the jerseys of both the University of Oklahoma and New Mexico State University.
Davison is expected to be the answer to the missing link for PLDT as Jovy Prado, who suffered an ACL tear during the Invitational Conference, will sit out the tilt.
“Something I look forward to at this conference is to see the competition. I’ve heard so much about volleyball in the Philippines, and I can’t wait to experience it,” Davison said.
“I’m also excited to see how far our PLDT team can go in this conference. I feel like we have a good chance this year.”
Davison will team up with PLDT veterans Rhea Dimaculangan, Mika Reyes, Kath Arado, Dell Palomata, and Mean Mendrez under coach Rald Ricafort.
In the first All-Filipino Conference this year, the High Speed Hitters wound up fourth.
PLDT will battle sister team Cignal on opening day at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
