TOKYO Olympics gold medalist Hidylin Diaz-Naranjo is now a member of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Council of Advisors, playing an even greater role for her alma mater.

As part of the CSB academe, she will share her expertise on health and wellness education and youth development studies in the school’s latest offering, the Bachelor in Holistic Disciplines (B-HOLD) under the Benilde School of Multidisciplinary Studies program.

The popular Olympic weightlifting champion will engage in extensive meetings and discussions with fellow board representatives led by former Vice President Leni Robredo and award-winning historian Ambeth Ocampo.

In her acceptance remark, the Benilde Business Administration Major in Business Management alumna, who completed her studies as a scholar under the Blessed Arnould Study Assistance Program, said she is honored to become a member of the CSB advisory panel.

“As an Olympian, I strive to fulfill the massive responsibility of being a role model to the next generation, especially young girls,” she said. “The B-HOLD would have been a perfect fit for me because it is a multidisciplinary direction for emerging talents with varied interests and evolving goals.”

Diaz-Naranjo concluded her Olympic journey by clinching a historic first Olympic gold medal for the Philippines in the Tokyo Summer Games in 2021.

Due to her inspiring and admirable determination and hard work, the veteran athlete became the first recipient of The Benilde Medallion, the college’s highest expression of recognition and appreciation of individuals for their extraordinary achievements and contributions in and outside the country.
