DESPITE settling for the silver medal, Cignal coach Shaq Delos Santos is doubly proud of his wards who gave it all in the recently concluded PVL Reinforced Conference.

The HD Spikers fell short in their bid to dethrone Petro Gazz, losing 17-25, 25-22, 12-25, 22-25 in Game 2 of the best-of-3 finals battle last Tuesday.

Cignal’s American import Tai Bierria, locals Ces Molina, Rachel Anne Daquis, Roselyn Doria, Gel Cayuna and Ria Meneses along with their other teammates bowed to the Angels 0-2 in the Big Dance.

“Sobrang proud ako sa team namin and, of course, sa import naming, kay Tai (Bierria) na talagang pinush niya iyong sarili niya para ma-reach din namin itong nasaan man kami ngayon,” Delos Santos said.

“Nag-usap iyong team, after ng game, so sobrang kailangan naming ipakita na ito iyong binigay sa amin ni Lord at tanggapin namin na deserve namin ito dahil pinaghirapan namin lahat and siyempre hindi parin naman tapos iyong campaign,” he added.

According to the veteran tactician and former national team coach, the HD Spikers will keep on working hard to be better next season.

“Kailangan mas magtrabaho pa kami and iyong mga kulang namin mas kailangan pa namin punuan and magsisipag lang mabuti,” he said.

In this year’s PVL season, Cignal has not missed reaching the podium as the HD Spikers bagged bronze medals in the Open and Invitational Conferences.

“I-enjoy namin itong nakuha naming silver,” Delos Santo said. “Kung mayroon man kaming mga mapag-usapan, siguro more on (sa) magagandang bagay kasi iyon iyong mas makakatulong sa amin para mas ma-boost iyong morale namin.”
