DOWN big but not out, Cignal HD stunned Choco Mucho, hacking out a thrilling 24-26, 19-25, 25-16, 25-21, 15-11 victory yesterday for its second straight win and the early lead in the PVL Invitational Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
Ces Molina wound up with an all-around performance for the HD Spikers with 17 points and 26 excellent receptions, while Glaudine Troncoso pumped in 13 markers.
Middle blockers Ria Meneses and Roselyn Doria also had 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Rachel Daquis posted 10 points and 18 digs for Cignal.
The gutsy come-from-behind triumph came on the heels of the HD Spikers’ 25-17, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20 victory over Army Black Mamba six days ago for a 2-0 start.
The Flying Titans failed to score a big follow-up to their 25-21, 25-21, 25-23 win over Chery Tiggo last Saturday and fell to 1-1. — Abby Toralba
