CIGNAL is down but not out.
HD Spikers coach Shaq delos Santos said his belles will not lie down and die despite absorbing a 21-25, 25-27, 35-37 loss to defending champion Petro Gazz in Game 1 of their best-of-3 finals showdown for the PVL Reinforced Conference title.
“Ang sabi ko nga sa team, hindi kami kailangan ma-down kasi ang point dito dapat mas maging happy kami, ma-appreciate namin iyong lahat ng blessings na mayroon kami na nakuha namin,” Delos Santos said.
“Grabe rin kasi iyong pinagdaanan namin bago namin ma-reach itong finals. Ako, sobrang proud (sa team) and never iyon magbabago sa team namin, iyong tingin ko sa kanila,” he added.
Delos Santos heaped praises on their foes, especially on Angels’ import Lindsey Vander Weide.
“Grabe iyong effort ng Petro Gazz, especially iyong import nila and iyong mga senior players nila na talagang nag-deliver talaga na to be honest, talagang mahirap (sila) i-stop, especially iyong import nila. Talagang the whole game, talagang siya iyong kailangan namin mapigilan, syempre siya talaga iyong key player,” Delos Santos said. “But grabe iyong respeto namin, ako bilang head coach ng team grabe iyong respect ko sa team nila.”
