DEFENDING champion Manila Southwoods leads four teams in the championship division of the 76th Philippine Airlines Interclub set to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, in Bacolod City.
Southwoods has claimed six of the last seven titles and is the team to beat in the four-day event. Eastridge Golf Club, however, aims to replicate its victory over Southwoods in the Fil-Am Invitational last December.
Del Monte, winner of last week’s seniors’ tournament, and Tagaytay Highlands-Team IMG complete the cast of contenders in the elite division.
Each team can have up to eight players, but only four can compete in each round. Players are limited to a maximum of two rounds.
The tournament follows the PAL scoring system: 1 point for a bogey, 2 for a par, 3 for a birdie, 4 for an eagle, 5 for a hole-in-one, and 6 for a double eagle.
The tournament venues are Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club and Bacolod Golf Club.
The 76th staging of the PAL Interclub is supported by Platinum sponsors PRIMAX Broadcasting Network and Asian Journal. Mastercard is a gold sponsor while RMN is a silver sponsor.
