WITH the booming golf scene in Pampanga and neighboring areas, the Alviera Country Club formally launched over the weekend the Alviera Driving Range with its Longest Drive Championship in Porac, Pampanga.
The Cadayong siblings, BJ and Larissa, took top honors in the men’s elite and women’s divisions with drives of 339 and 258.5 yards, respectively, over the 350-yard range – considered the longest in the country – built inside the sprawling Ayala-owned estate just north of Metro Manila.
In the Power Strokers category, Elian Barclay took the trophy with a strong 312-yard drive while William Rapoza ruled the Rising Slammers division with a drive of 307 yards.
“Witnessing golfers from all walks of life challenge themselves and cheer each other on embodies what Alviera is all about. This event marks the beginning of a new tradition—one that unites enthusiasts, families, and friends in a vibrant, supportive environment,” Tin Yabao, Ayala Land Estates marketing head for Central Luzon, said.
“Ayala told us it wanted the best and longest driving range, so that we aim to please,” said Eduardo “Bong” Arguelles, Turfgrass Management Inc. president, of the range featuring 24 bays and located just a short drive from the Alviera Country Club.
“You will note the layout of the driving range is rolling and simulates actual fairways in a good course,” Arguelles noted. “We created a range where practice driving can be done in a leisurely and conducive environment by gold enthusiasts of all levels.”For the latest schedules, updates, and information on how to join the fun, visit the official website at www.alviera.com.ph.
