LEAVING no stone unturned.

Gilas Pilipinas is set to reconvene on June 22 at the Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba and play in a pair of exhibition games against Tukey and Poland.

“That’s when we are convening the team again and we are training at the Inspire Sports Academy,” she added.

After their camp in Laguna, the Nationals’ mettle will be tested in their preparations for the Olympic qualifying tournament set for July 2 to 7 in Latvia.

“After which, a few days after lang, we will be playing against the Turkey national team on the 27th of June,” Dy said in the weekly public sports program presented by San Miguel Corporation, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, Smart/PLDT, MILO, and the 24/7 sports app in the country ArenaPlus.

“Then we proceed to Poland which is also hosting us for another friendly game. From Poland we go straight to Latvia for the Olympic qualifiers.”

Gilas, ranked No. 37, must finish in the top two of its group to reach the crossover semifinals against the top two of Group B, which includes No. 12 Brazil, No. 17 Montenegro, and No. 67 Cameroon.

The winners of the crossover semis will clash for the lone slot in the Olympics.

Aside from the OQT, Gilas will resume its campaign in the second window set for Nov. 21 and 24 after it completed a 2-0 sweep of the first round of the Asia Cup qualifiers last February.
