Garcia still trying to sell battle with Pacquiao

STILL angling for a crack at Manny Pacquiao, Mikey Garcia yesterday vowed to be in the best physical shape in the event he tangles with the former eight-division world champion.

“To beat him (Pacquiao), you prepare the best you can, get in the best shape possible,” Garcia told noted boxing writer Dan Rafael in an interview posted on the ring website worldboxingnews.net.

“Try to get the best conditioning because you don’t know which Manny is going to show up.

Is he the Manny that’s going to start a little slow and then pick it up, or is he going to start fast as he did with Thurman,” Garcia, 33, pointed out.

“You have to be ready. We would make it a good fight. I think the fans would enjoy it very much,” the American-Mexican brawler, who has a record of 40 wins, 30 by knockout, against one loss, said of the match supposed to be scheduled in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates in July.

Celebrity talent manager Arnold Vegafria, who also serves as the fighting senator’s business manager, was recently in Dubai to meet with local investors there last month, posting his trip in his Instagram account.
