THE Choco Mucho Flying Titans have tapped Greek spiker Zoi Faki, who has had extensive experience in the US NCAA, as their import for next month’s Philippine Volleyball League Reinforced Conference
“Say hi to Zoi Faki who has experience and strength to deliver the much-needed boost for the team,” the Flying Titans announced on social media yesterday.
“Welcome to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans fam, Zoi Faki!”
The 6-foot-1 outside hitter played for five years in two US NCAA Division 1 schools, the first four with the University of Pittsburgh before suiting up for San Diego State University in her final year.
Before being contracted by the Flying Titans, Faki suited up for Greek clubs AO Thiras and Apollon Kalamatas in 2023.
She is expected to fill the offensive slack for ace spiker Cherry Ann Rondina and middle blocker Cherry Nunag, who are expected to be out of the squad due to national team duties.
Faki will form a formidable frontline with newly-acquired Dindin Santiago-Manabat while the other star players are unavailable.
The Flying Titans have gone the extra mile to boost their championship drive after falling twice in the finals of the last two PVL tournament, including to sister squad Creamline in the last All-Filipino Conference.
