STEVEN Rotter of the Philippine men’s volleyball team brought glory to the country by bagging the Best Opposite hitter plum in the first Leg of the SEA V.League in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Filipino-American hitter was awarded with the Best Opposite award last Sunday, joining the individual awardees in the four-nation competition.

Rotter, 25, starred for the Philippines in the tourney, tallying 10 points against Indonesia last Friday, scoring 19 markers against Thailand three days ago, and then exploding with 18 points in a duel with Vietnam.

The 6-foot-6 spiker made his debut for the Philippines last May in the Cambodia Southeast Asian Games.

Despite his heroics, the national team finished last in the three-day meet.

Fahry Septian Putratama of Indonesia was named the MVP while his teammates, Farhan Halim and Hendra Kurniawan, received the Best Outside and Best Middle Blocker awards, respectively.
