SUSTAINING her strong drive after a victorious weekend, Alex Eala combined with Poland’s Ursula Radwanska late Tuesday night (Tuesday afternoon in Europe) to beat Lithuania’s Andre Lukosuite and England’s Eliz Maloney 6-4, 6-4 in doubles play of the W25 Aldershot tourney in Aldershot, England.

In a brilliant initial team-up with the elder sister of world No. 2 Agnieska Radwanska, Eala was solid and steady as the duo clawed out of a 0-3 hole in the first set and prevailed after an hour and 33 minutes of action on court 7 of the Aldershot Tennis Center.

The pretty Pinay southpaw was set to do double duty last night, facing hometown bet Ranah Akua Stoiber in a battle of 18-year-olds at the start of singles play in the town that was once a bastion of the British army located 68.3 kilometers southwest of London.

She was to set return to the court with Radwanska a few hours later to face the top-seeded English pair of Emily Appleton and Lauryn John-Baptiste, who drew an opening-round bye, in the quarterfinals.
