ANOTHER Filipina volleyball player will be plying her trade overseas after multi-awarded setter Jia De Guzman was signed by the Denso Airybees of the Japan V.League.
The team announced yesterday on social media the signing of De Guzman who last played for the powerhouse Creamline Cool Smashers in the PVL.
The eight-time PVL Best Setter and four-time finals MVP said in a short statement that she will do her best to contribute to the Airybees.
“I am really looking forward to contributing everything I can for the Denso Airybees. Together with the coaches, staff, and my teammates, we will do our very best to train, fight and win this season,” De Guzman, who’s already been training with the Airybees, said.
The 5-foot-7 playmaker will be the sixth Filipino volleyball player abroad this year.
She will be joining Jaja Santiago in Japan, who will make her debut with JT Marvelous after five years with Saitama Ageo Medics. Other Pinoy spikers abroad are Bryan Bagunas in Taiwan, Marck Espejo, MJ Phillips and Iris Tolenada in Korea.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Creamline team manager Alan Acero expressed his support for Morado.
