DEFENDING champion College of St. Benilde goes for the first Final Four slot when it collides with Letran today in the 98th NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The match is set at 2 p.m. after Perpetual Help clashes with San Beda University at noon.
The Lady Blazers have a 6-0 card while the Lady Knights are running third with a 4-1 mark, tied with the Lady Altas.
The Taft-based squad stretched its winning run to six last Tuesday with a 25-22, 25-16, 24-26, 22-25, 15-13 decision over Mapua University.
Gayle Pascual, along with Jade Gentapa, Camill Avila, Weilyn Estoque, Zamantha Nolasco and skipper Cloanne Mondonedo are expected to lead CSB’s attack.
Letran survived Jose Rizal University 14-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 17-15 for its third straight win two days ago.
The Lady Knights will count on Julienne Castro, Judiel Nitura, Chamberlaine Cunada, Jade Isar, Angelique Ledesma and Natalie Estreller.
Perpetual will lean on Shaila Omipon, Mary Rhose Dapol, Janine Padua, Winnie Bedana, Jhasmine Sapin and team captain Razel Aldea.
Kleiner Abraham, Chynna Castillo, Katleya Molina, Marianne Tayag, Patricia Cenzon, and skipper Trisha Paras will be counted upon by the Lady Red Spikers.
Already out of Final Four contention are JRU and San Sebastian College.
