AFTER two seasons, College of St. Benilde prized guard Migs Oczon has opted to suit up in the Korean Basketball League.

Blazers head mentor Charles Tiu confirmed to Malaya Business Insight via SMS the decision of the 6-foot shooter to bring his act overseas.

The Davao-native signed with KBL’s Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus which previously had RJ Abarrientos, who won the Rookie of the Year honors last season, as their Asian import.

In his rookie season with the Blazers in Season 98, Oczon averaged 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as he helped the Taft-based crew reach the finals.

This season, Oczon, 23, became one of the more reliable players for CSB, norming 13.4 points, 4.8 boards, 2.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

CSB, however, fell short in its bid to advance to the Big Dance anew.

According to Tiu, Oczon will no longer play in the battle for third on Sunday, Dec. 10, pitting the Blazers against the Lyceum Pirates at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Before joining CSB, Oczon played one season with the National University Bulldogs in the UAAP.

Ulsan Hyundai finished fourth with a 34-20 card last season.

Oczon will cross paths with fellow Filipino dribblers Rhenz Abando, Dave Ildefonso, SJ Belangel, Juan Gomez De Liano, Ethan Alvano, Calvin Epistola and Avan Nava in the KBL.
