CHERY Tiggo thumped F2 Logistics 25-19, 25-14, 25-16 yesterday for its third straight win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
The Crossovers joined Creamline for the early lead at 3-0, thanks to team captain Mylene Paat who pumped in 22 points.
With the win, Chery Tiggo halted F2’s two-game winning streak.
“I’m so proud of these ladies, how they really work hard. Wala ka talagang ma-pipin-point talaga kasi iyong puso na ibinigay ng mga players ngayon talagang inalay nila sa isa’t isa,” Crossovers coach Aaron Velez said.
“We know for a fact that F2 is not an easy team (to beat). I mean lahat naman ng mga koponan but they also had a two game winning streak so talagang overwhelming and nagpapasalamat kami,” he added.
Shaya Adorador also contributed 13 markers and six receptions, EJ Laure had 12 points along with 15 excellent digs and Cza Carandang added 10 points for Chery Tiggo.
Coming off an opening set win, the Crossovers sustained their dominance in the second frame and took a 20-8 lead after an 8-0 run. An F2 service error gave Chery Tiggo a 24-14 lead before Carandang finished the set with a quick hit.
The Movers put up a tough fight in the third but Chery Tiggo still posted a 16-12 edge. Afte Paat gave the Crossovers a 23-15 advantage and a 24-15 spread, an attacking error by Cargo Movers’ Myla Pablo ended the game.
Myla Pablo paced F2, which slipped to 2-1, with nine points, while skipper Aby Marano and Majoy Baron combined for 12 markers.
