THIS early, Creamline star Alyssa Valdez likes what she sees with their import Erika Staunton in their bid in the PVL Reinforced Conference set to start tomorrow.
“So far iyong adjustment, gumaganda na. Siyempre iyong time na ibinigay sa amin na makasama namin iyong import namin, nakuha na namin,” Valdez said. “Erika really compliments our team in terms of character, attitude, playing style, as well. “For me, kitang-kita ko na fit talaga siya sa sistema rin namin. Excited kami na maipakita niya rin at makatulong siya sa team. Napakagaan kasama ni Erika on and off the court,” she added.
Cool Smashers coach Sherwin Meneses agreed with Valdez, saying: “Maghihintay na lang kami sa mga results ng game.”
Aside from the American wing spiker Staunton, Creamline is also expected to draw a big boost from lone rookie Fil-Canadian Aleiah Torres.
Staunton, 23, a 6-foot-1 belle, will be hard-pressed to lead the team sans ace Jema Galanza who will likely be out for weeks due to Alas Pilipinas national women’s volleyball team duties.
The veteran open spiker is also delighted to have Torres, who can play as libero or an attacker, noting that the team can also learn from the 5-foot-4 player who went from University of Brock in Canada.
