CREAMLINE bucked the injury of star Alyssa Valdez in the third set and finished off Chery Tiggo 25-15, 25-19, 23-25, 25-21 yesterday to bag the bronze in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Diana Mae Carlos led the Cool Smashers, who went all-Filipino in the battle for third as Turkish reinforcement Yeliz Basa nursed a nagging injury, with 19 points, 17 off attacks and two service aces, while setter Jia Morado tossed 26 excellent sets to go along with four points.
“Siyempre happy kami na natapos namin iyong campaign namin this year na naka-bronze kami at tsaka nanalo kami so masaya kami,” Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses said.
Jema Galanza delivered 16 markers, Jeanette Panaga scored 14 points, Celine Domingo had 12 kills, while Valdez added 10.
Last Thursday in their first duel in the battle for third, Creamline overpowered Chery Tiggo 25-22, 22-25, 25-5, 25-19.
