Cowser, Urias help Orioles pound Twins

COLTON Cowser and Ramon Urias each homered and drove in three runs as the Baltimore Orioles rolled to a 12-3 victory over the host Minnesota Twins Wednesday afternoon at Fort Myers, Florida (Thursday in Manila).

Cowser, Urias, Cedric Mullins and Michael Perez all had two hits to pace Baltimore’s 17-hit attack. Urias hit a two-run homer in the second inning, Cowser slugged a three-run shot in the third and Perez delivered a two-run single in the seventh.

Dean Kremer (1-0) gave up one run and two hits in two innings for the Orioles. Pablo Lopez (0-1) gave up two runs and three hits in two innings for the Twins.

Jake Rucker hit a slot blast for Minnesota.

In other games, it was the Nationals 4, Red Sox 3; Mets 3, Cardinals 0; Blue Jays 3, Rays 2; Astros 6, Marlins 1; Tigers 5, Pirates 3; and Braves 7, Phillies 7.
