STAR spiker Alyssa Valdez of defending champion Creamline is convinced the Smashers still have what it takes in the PVL Open Conference.
“The team, the Creamline Cool Smashers, is still preparing for the conference. It’s very near, we’re less than a month before the opening,” Valdez said last Tuesday in the Philippine Sportswriters Association forum at the ground floor of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
“They’ve been really working hard to prepare and really defend the title this conference, All-Filipino,” she added.
Valdez, 29, said she’s in therapy after suffering a knee injury in Creamline’s battle for the bronze with Chery Tiggo last December and is waiting for her doctor’s updated diagnosis.
“I’m doing therapy so that I can go back to the court as soon as possible. I’m hoping and praying na walang ibang makitang (injury) and makabalik na po ako sa court,” Valdez said.
