BOWLING legend Olivia “Bong” Coo was appointed yesterday by President Marcos as a member of the five-man board of the Philippine Sports Commission.
Atty. Guillermo B. Iroy, Jr., the PSC officer-in-charge, confirmed the appointment of Coo, the president of the Philippine Bowling Federation who has been a regular fixture in the sport for nearly six decades.
“We just received the appointment paper of Ms. Bong Coo as new Commissioner of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). We already informed our beloved bowling heroine and she already received the copy of the documents from Malacanang,” Iroy said.
Iroy said Malacanang has yet to appoint the other members of the board — the chairman and three more commissioners.
