CIGNAL and VNS-One Alicia collide today for the solo lead in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference at the Paco Arena.
The match is set at 2:30 p.m., with the HD Spikers and the Griffins keen on keeping their winning streaks going before PGJC Navy takes on Army-Katinko at 5:30 p.m.
Cignal whipped the Troopers 25-15, 25-14, 25-19 last Thursday.
“Nakatune-up din namin sila (VNS-One Alicia) prior to this conference so alam namin kung paano sila gumalaw,” HD Spikers coach Dexter Clamor said.
“Sabi nga ni Marck (Espejo) may mga bago so pag-aaralan namin, paghahandaan namin kung anong dapat naming gawin and identify namin kung ano iyong strong at weak points nila and of course iyong pang-counterattack namin sa kanila sa game namin,” he added.
Marck Espejo, skipper Ysay Marasigan, JP Bugaoan, and Rex Intal are expected to lead the way for Cignal.
VNS-One Alicia nipped Santa Rosa City 25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 30-28, 15-13, five days ago.
Team captain Ben San Andres, Uriel Mendoza, Michael Christian Doria and Kevin Montemayor will be counted upon by the Griffins.
The Sealions slid to 1-1 last Tuesday after falling short against NU-Sta. Elena Nationals 25-17, 26-24, 19-25, 24-26, 16-28.
PGJC Navy will rely on Joshua Umandal, skipper Greg Dolor, Joeven Dela Vega and libero Jack Kalingking.
Army-Katinko will bank on team captain Ben Labide, Patrick Rojas, Jaidal Abdulmajid and Antonio Torres in its bid to notch a maiden win.
