CIGNAL is expected to plunge into action in the new PVL season with a revamp line-up after parting ways with six players.

The HD Spikers let go of wing spiker Angeli Araneta, setter Ayel Estrañero, middle blockers Marist Layug and Joy Dacoron, and wing hitters Arianne Layug and Klarissa Abriam, weeks before the Open Conference which is set to kick off next month.

“Thank you and we wish you an awesome journey!” the squad wrote on the team’s social media pages.

Araneta was one of the key players for Cignal last season when the HD Spikers reached podium finishes during the league’s three conferences.

Cignal bagged the bronze medal in the Open and Invitational Conferences and won the silver in the Reinforced tourney last year.

The team will likely name its new additions before the start of the Open Conference.

Araneta reportedly will fly to Canada to attend school.

The HD Spikers also bid farewell to three players in their men’s team.

The red and white squad let go of middle blocker Rex Intal, setter Owen Suarez and wing hitter Edward Camposano four days ago.

The three players were part of the Cignal’s title win in the PNVF Champions League men’s division and the HD Spikers’ runner-up finish in the Spikers’ Turf Open Conference, both last year.
