THE windfall continues to come Carlos Edriel Yulo’s way.
Chooks-to-Go and Bounty, staunch supporters of Philippine sports, honored their commitment to excellence by awarding a P3 million incentive to Yulo, the Philippines’ Paris Olympics double gold medalist, over the weekend at the grand opening of Chooks! at Festival Mall in Muntinlupa– the company’s 38th dine-in restaurant.
While Yulo isn’t officially part of Bounty’s pool of athletes and endorsers, his historic stint during the Greatest Show on Earth certainly brought immense pride and honor to the country.
Yulo, who ruled the floor exercise and vault events of the men’s artistic gymnastics, was fittingly feted by Bounty as the latest toast of Philippine sports.
Attending the ceremony were Bounty Fresh Group Holdings Chief Executive Officer Atty. Kenneth Cheng, Vice President for Corporate Marketing and Chooks-to-Go Inc. Executive Vice President for Operations Patricia Cheng-Lim, Chief Finance Officer Diane Choi, and Festival Mall manager Yvette Dizon.
Atlanta Games silver winner Mansueto “Onyok” Velasco and Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Marcial, both of boxing; Yulo’s fellow Paris Olympian and fencer Samantha Catantan, and triathlon star Nikko Huelgas, the also marketing head of the Philippine Olympic Committee, also graced the event.
Gymnastics Association of the Philippines chief Cynthia Carrion accompanied Yulo.
Yulo, 24, who will go down in history as the greatest Filipino Olympian unless someone exceeds him in the Los Angeles edition of the grandest sports spectacle or in the years and decades to come, not only brought pride to the nation but also best typified the spirit of excellence that Chooks-to-Go and Bounty aim to celebrate.
The special ceremony marked a significant moment as Chooks-to-Go, Bounty, and Yulo expressed their gratitude and commitment to fans who have supported them throughout their journey.
“Chooks-to-Go and Bounty have always been more than just a brand. It’s a beacon of hope for Philippine sports,” Cheng-Lim said.
“We are honored to reward Carlos Yulo’s extraordinary accomplishments and are excited to share this moment with the fans who have been a crucial part of his success,” she added.
In nearly a decade, Chooks-to-Go and Bounty have made big contributions to Philippine sports, including support for Special Olympics Pilipinas and recognition from the Philippine Olympian Association.
The company has also been a steadfast supporter of para athletes, notably backing the Philippine Warriors, the national wheelchair basketball team.
The opening of the Chooks! Restaurant did not only celebrate Yulo’s feat but also gave fans a chance to join in the festivities and witness firsthand the continued dedication of Chooks-to-Go and Bounty to the growth of sports in the Philippines.
