REACHING the Promised Land for the first time since 2018 remains the top goal for La Salle ace rookie Angel Canino.
Bannered by Canino’s exploits in Game 1, the Lady Spikers edged defending champion National University 18-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13 last Sunday in their best-of-3 title battle.
Canino, 19, bared that she was ecstatic in her first finals stint and shrugged off pressure to help power the La Salle past NU.
Lady Spikers assistant coach Noel Orcullo said that they will take the six-day break to recover.
“Hindi naman siguro makaka-apekto sa amin (iyong day off). So, iyong paghahanda pa rin namin nandoon basta ang importante makapag-pahinga sila kahit isang araw para going to Game 2, ready iyong mga katawan nila,” he said.
La Salle seeks its 12th crown overall in Game 2 set this Sunday, May 14, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
