UPSTART coach Jerson Cabiltes is not one to wilt under pressure.
Last year, the youthful tactician guided Basilan to titles in the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup and in the Chooks-to-Go MPBL Invitational. He also steered AICC Manila to a crown in the Filbasket.
“Ang lagi kong sinasabi sa players ko ay pressure is always part of life. The key there is how you overcome pressure, iyon lang naman,” Cabiltes told Malaya-Business Insight yesterday.
“How do you overcome pressure? By being ready anytime, so we just need to be ready when the opportunity comes,” he added.
Cabiltes, who was named new Nueva Ecija strategist last week in the Filbasket, said the Agri Heroes have their work cut out for them in the banner 12-team field that includes the Malaysian national team.
“There will be some competitive teams especially may international team, iyong Malaysia, nag-commit na sasali. We have to do some scouting reports kasi national team iyan, not just a club team,” Cabiltes said.
