OFFICIALS and coaches of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines share their experience in the recent qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics in today’s Philippine Sportswriters Association Forum at the conference hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
The country’s governing body for boxing will be represented by secretary general Marcus Jarwin Manalo, executive assistant to the president Karina Picson, and coaches Reynaldo Galido and Mitchel Martinez in the 10:30 a.m. public sports program.
Tokyo Games silver medal winner Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas clinched berths to the Paris Olympics after reaching the finals and semifinals of their respective weight classes in last week’s World Qualification Tournament in Busto Arsizio, Italy.
The two became the third Filipino boxer to qualify in Paris after Eumir Felix Marcial.
