Bossing told: Keep grinding

NEW Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso wants his charges to trust the process.

“I’m here and might as well get my feet wet, get used to them a little bit,” Cariaso said. “It’s difficult when your games are so spread out, 12 days, 10 days, or one week.

“But again, there’s a system we’re putting into place now, so obviously hindi pa siya habits sa mga players,” he added.

Cariaso spoke before his team winds up its PBA On Tour campaign against TNT this Sunday, where he will call the shots for the second straight game after missing most parts of the two-month series of tune-up matches.

Having taken over at the helm of the Bossing last April in lieu of Ariel Vanguardia, Cariaso let assistant Joe Silva handle the squad in the pro league’s exhibition games due to a trip in the United States.

“So, that’s part of it, part of the process. I told them to keep grinding, keep learning, and the more time we have, the more time we have to understand what’s expected,” Cariaso said.

“That was something we’re happy about. So, I wanted to try and challenge them to keep on going,” Cariaso said.

Blackwater has notched six wins against four defeats in its pre-season stint going into its tiff with the hapless Tropang Giga.

In his fist tiff coaching the Bossing, Blackwater absorbed a 108-131 rout at the hands of Rain or Shine last Sunday.
