COMING up a little bit too late, Bianca Pagdanganan fired a 68 yesterday to wind up in a two-way tie for 29th place at the close of the Honda LPGA Thailand tournament at the Siam Golf Club Old Course in Chonburi, Thailand.
Pagdanganan, who shot 68 and 72 in the previous two rounds, had eight birdies and four bogeys over the par-72, 6,576-yard course, home of the Thailand LPGA, located 124.1 kilometers southeast of Bangkok.
Playing in her first tournament in the US LPGA 2024 season, the 2019 30th Philippine Southeast Asian Games double gold medalist had a four-round tally of 279, 12 shots behind Thai champ Patty Thavanakit.
She shared $14,310 (around P800,429) with Swiss Nanna Koerstz, each getting $7,160 (P400,215.50) for their efforts.
Thavanakit, who had a closing round 68 (267), pocketed the top prize of $255,000 (P14.2) with a one-shot victory over Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela, who had the day’s best round of 63 for a 268 total. — Bong Pedralvez
