PLAYING on an unfamiliar layout for the first time, Bianca Pagdanganan had an up-and-down outing yesterday, firing a 71 to land in a crowded nine-way tie for 41st in the first round of the $1.7-million Honda LPGA Thailand tournament at the Siam Country Club Old Course in Chonburi, Thailand.
Teeing off on the front nine in an early-morning flight, Pagdanganan had four birdies against three bogeys over the par-72, 6,576-yard course, home of the Thailand LPGA, located 124.1 kilometers southeast of Bangkok.
She stood seven shots behind veteran Taiwanese frontrunner Chien Pei-yun, who shot an eagle-aided 64 and was two shots ahead of 2020 Women’s PGA Championship winner Kim Sei-young of South Korea.
