AFTER another forgettable outing in her latest tournament and in danger of losing her priority status on the US LPGA tour, Bianca Pagdanganan hopes to shake off her struggles when she competes today in the LPGA Mediheal Championship at The Saticoy Club in Somis, California.

Pagdanganan has failed to make the cut in five of her last six event, including The Ascendant LPGA Benefiting Volunteers of America tournament in The Colony, Texas the previous weekend, so she will be determined to make a good showing over the par-71, 6,55-yard layout located 86.7 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles.

At stake in the 72-hole competition is a total pot of $1.8 million (roughly P118 million), with $270,000 (P6.7 million) going to the winner plus 500 points in the Race to CME Globe points list.

According to the golfnewsnet.com, “a player must finish inside the top 100 on the points list to earn status in the top priority category for the following season. The higher a player finishes on the money list, the better chance they have of getting into every LPGA event they choose.

“Obviously, finishing in the top 100 is a big priority for LPGA players. It helps them get into pretty much every full field event that’s not a major.”
