AFTER skipping the US Women’s Open, Bianca Pagdanganan is expected to be back in harness together with compatriot and fellow Olympic hopeful Dotie Ardina today (Thursday in the US) in the Shoprite LPGA Classic presented by Acer Seaview Bay Course in Galloway, New Jersey.

While Yuka Saso completed another memorable finish by capturing her second US Women’s Open Championship at the Lancaster Country Club in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Pagdanganan was not around to witness her former compatriot’s accomplishment.

She will definitely be focused on sustaining her own progress after finishing in a tie for seventh place three weeks ago at the Mizuho Americas Open in New Jersey City in the 54-hole tournament over the compact par-71, 6,190-yard layout.

Pagdanganan — and Ardina — will also be aiming to fortify their respective Olympic campaigns as they are currently ranked Nos. 35 and 55, respectively, in the International Golf Federation Olympic women’s qualifying rankings.

The top 60 golfers in the women’s division cut-off date of June 24 will clinch tickets to the Paris Olympics, something which Saso, who represented the country in the Tokyo Summer Games in 2021, has virtually in the bag since she is No. 5 in the ratings.
