JUST over a two years ago, National University star Bella Belen took the UAAP by storm by winning the Rookie of the Year and MVP awards.
Now on her fourth–and possibly her final season with the Lady Bulldogs, Belen is out to play a crucial leadership role.
“Siyempre, gusting-gusto ko talagang maglaro for NU for another year,” the reigning MVP told Malaya-Business Insight. “Gusto ko pang ibahagi sa mga bata kung ano pa iyong mga natutunan ko throughout my years sa NU.
“Sana before ako umalis sa NU madami silang matutunan sa akin,” she added.
NU completed its redemption bid in the last volley wars that prompted Belen to stay in Sampaloc.
Alyssa Solomon and Sheena Toring also opted to join Belen for another season for the Lady Bulldogs.
NU coach Norman Miguel is elated no end with her belles choosing to remain with the squad.
“Sobrang malaking tulong iyon na when they decided to stay pa rin and play for one more year kasi intact pa rin kami,” Miguel said. “Hindi ba malaking parang boost pa rin iyon tsaka, alam mo iyon, kumpiyansa sa isa’t isa.
“Ang paghahanda na lang namin talaga is maging malakas iyong katawan. Iwas sa mga injuries.”
