PRESIDENT Marcos on Sunday night congratulated the Philippine National Women Football team for their historic victory in the Asean Football Federation Championship.
“Congratulations on this historic victory!” a post in Marcos’ Facebook and Instagram accounts read hours after the championship match.
Before the start of Sunday’s championship match, a video of Marcos congratulating the Philippine Team for making it to the finals and wishing them victory in the championship match had been uploaded in the same social media accounts.
“I congratulate Team Filipinas who brought and honored our country in the AFF Women’s Championship 2022. The skill and talent displayed by every Filipino athlete is truly amazing. Long live and we salute you all!” the social media posts of Marcos read.
Marcos said the victory of the team showed that cooperation is a big part of success. He added that Filipinos, regardless of gender, are “great.”
