HIGHLIGHTING and recognizing local women cagers this women’s month, the WNBA is staying true to its word on giving opportunities and promoting female power in sports.
The WNBA and AXA Philippines sealed a partnership and staged a Her Court event over the weekend at the NBA Community Court in Reyes Gym, Mandaluyong City.
The event gave emphasis on promoting basketball and fitness, along with nutrition programs specifically designed for women to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
“Well, you know the NBA and the WNBA has always show its commitment towards the women’s sports. Even throughout early as 2014, we’ve been bringing WNBA legends here for our junior NBA,” NBA Philippines Global Marketing Partnerships Senior Director Mae Dichupa said.
“As an organization, we really look towards grassroots, we always provide opportunities for women and girls,” she added.
Around 30 women joined the event, including para athlete Kat Tan and former National University standout Christiana Dimaunahan.
Tan, also known as the “one-armed Mamba” has been an inspiration for basketball players despite her disabilities. She expressed gratitude to the WNBA and AXA.
