DESPITE a seemingly underwhelming stint in his first season as an import in the Japan B. League, Thirdy Ravena remained grateful for the opportunity to bring his act overseas.
“Season’s officially over,” Ravena said on his Instagram account last Wednesday night after San-En NeoPhoenix wound up its campaign with a 75-80 loss to the Shinshu Brave Warriors at the Kotobuki Arena Chikuma.
“Wish I was able to play more games, but such is life,” he added.
The 6-foot-2 wingman thanked San-En NeoPhoenix for welcoming him to the squad after his collegiate career with Ateneo in the UAAP.
“Thank you to the @neophoenix_official family and boosters for accepting this young and clueless kid from the Philippines with open arms,” Ravena said.
“It was an experience I’ll never forget.”
San-En NeoPhoenix finished the tourney with six straight defeats for a dismal 12-47 record in the West District.
The high-flying Ravena averaged 9.1 points on 36-percent shooting, to go with 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 22.8 minutes of play in 18 games he saw action, including 14 matches as a starter.
