KNOWING the PBA is no patsy, former La Salle guard Encho Serrano proved he is ready to make the jump to the pros yesterday.

With Serrano showing the way, A-1 Converge scored a 57-53 victory over B-2 Rain or Shine in the final of the PBA Draft Combine mini-tournament at the Gatorade Hoops Center in Mandaluyong.

Serrano fired 15 points, while Niño Ibañez and JM Calma added 18 and 13 markers, respectively as the squad took home a P50,000 cash incentive.

Serrano averaged 14.0 points in three matches and bagged the MVP award. He was joined in the Mythical Five by Shaun Ildefonso, JayR dela Rosa, Kurt Lojera, and Ato Ular.

Orlan Wamar led the Elasto Painters with 19 points, while Ildefonso had 10.

Meanwhile, former La Salle prized big man Justine Baltazar has pulled out of the pro league’s draft on Sunday at the Robinsons Place Manila.
