Pirates hold off start of face-to-face training

WHILE the Commission on Higher Education has given the green light for the resumption of collegiate training under stringent health and safety protocols last month, Lyceum coach Jeffrey Perlas is tempering his expectations.

The Pirates have to cool their heels first.

“It’s a very welcome development but lots of restrictions and guidelines pa rin before we can really have our face-to-face training,” Perlas told Malaya-Business Insight yesterday.

“But the good thing about it is, meron ng tinitignan na date which makes everyone excited na,” he added.

The move came on the heels of more contact sports being allowed in Metro Manila after the region was placed under Alert Level 2 until Dec. 15.

The CHED’s decision ended a long wait for the school teams’ return to physical training after the agency crafted and released the guidelines in October last year.

Perlas said Lyceum has to content itself with online training in the meantime before holding face-to-face practices early next year.
